UNDP-APDIP International Open Source Network formed
The International Open Source Network (IOSN) is a Center of Excellence for FOSS in the Asia-Pacific Region. It shapes its activities around Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) technologies and applications.
Although not widely publicised, August 28 was software freedom day. The slogan on their site is "Every generation has had to fight for its freedom. Now it is our turn." Free software refers to the freedom for people to exchange, produce, study and improve software. It is free as in freedom, not necessarily as in price. Their website contains primers on free and open source software.
The IOSN is using the same free software to run its website, Plone, that the Human Rights Network uses.
