Chief Commissioner supports Affordable Housing Bill
The Human Rights Commission has asked Parliament to adopt provisions in the Affordable Housing Bill that would prevent developers using title covenants to exclude social or affordable housing, including supported accommodation. On the issue of covenants, Ms Noonan said, "Often the Commission has found such covenants have a discriminatory intent but this can be hard to establish under the Human Rights Act."
