Our Common Future: UNANZ conference
The main theme of the national conference is "Our Common Future" linking interrelated issues such as Human Rights and Development. The Saturday and Sunday are the main conference parts and include our AGM and national council meetings (plus one on Friday night May30). It includes our Chief Human Rights Commissioner Rosslyn Noonan, Ken Douglas and many other speakers along with a political debate session and the Speech Awards Finals. The Monday is a WFUNA workshop on the UN and Climate Change, where we will feed back ideas to the WFUNA climate change taskforce, preparing a report to the SG. We have Nick Nuttall UNEP official spokesman coming from Nairobi and workshop topics including the UN and Civil Society roles, environmental (climate) refugees, transitions from peak oil, a fair Kyoto II treaty etc which would be enhanced by your contributions. This is at a different venue and transport will be provided from the accomodation for those needing it.
