3 Needles
"3 Needles" is a powerful drama about the impact of HIV and AIDS in three continents. In China a poor community sells blood for funds. In Canada a film actor and his mother hide the news that would lose him his job. In South Africa a young Catholic aid worker tries to help a local community. The movie features Hollywood actors like Lucy Liu and Stockard Channing and show the complexity of dealing with HIV. Although the movie screens during the Out Takes - Reel Queer film festival, it is a "straight" movie with no gay characters - just a universally applicable situation.
